Set up ringlock scaffolding must follow a standardized process: “Foundation preparation → Surveying and layout → Base Jack → Standards, Ledger, Diagonal braces, and Steel plank → U-Head Jack installation → Inspection,” to ensure structural stability and construction safety.

I. Foundation Preparation and Layout
Foundation preparation: Ensure the ground in the erection area is level and firm to guarantee even load distribution at the base of the uprights.

Positioning and Layout: Based on the construction drawings, mark the position of each Ringlock scaffolding Standards, controlling the spacing between Standards (typically 1.5 m).
Installation of Base Jack : Place the adjustable bases at the marked points and adjust the threaded rods; the exposed length of the threaded rods should not exceed 300 mm, and the height from the base to the ground should be ≤550 mm.

II. Ringlock scaffolding Standards Installation:
Standards : Horizontal spacing (toward the wall) is generally 0.9 m to 1.2 m, and vertical spacing (along the length of the scaffold) is 1.5 m to 1.8 m; specific values must be determined based on load calculations.

Standards Base: Install toe boards at a height of 200 mm to 300 mm above the ground. 

Ledger Installation:
Spacing Control: Install horizontal beams laterally at the designed spacing (typically 0.9 m) and longitudinally at the designed spacing (typically 1.5 m) to ensure uniform spacing between levels and facilitate load transfer.

Connection Method:
Insert the plugs at both ends of the ledger into the small holes on the standards , ensuring the plugs are fully seated.
Use a hammer to tap the pins until they sink ≤3 mm, with the tail end of the pin protruding to create a self-locking state.

Bottom Ledger Installation: Install ledger on the bottom-standards, with a distance from the top of the base ≤550 mm, to enhance overall stability and prevent uneven settlement.

Diagonal braces Installation Specifications
Spacing Based on Scaffold Height:
When the scaffold height is <24 m, a vertical brace shall be installed at intervals of no more than 4 bays.
When the scaffold height is ≥24 m, a vertical brace shall be installed at intervals of no more than 3 bays, and they need to be installed continuously.

Mandatory Continuous Installation at Special Locations:
At scaffold corners and the ends of open-type scaffolds, diagonal braces must be installed continuously from bottom to top without interruption.
Diagonal braces shall be arranged starting from the outermost bay to ensure coverage on all four sides.

Details for Galvanized Scaffold Plank:
Steel plank must be laid fully across the working level of the scaffold .Steel plank must not be left unsupported or allowed to lift; they must be laid perpendicular to the horizontal members.

III. U-Head Jack and Load Control
Adjustable U-Head Jack : The cantilever length extending beyond the top horizontal bar must not exceed 500 mm; the exposed length of the threaded rod must be ≤400 mm, and the insertion depth into the upright must be ≥200 mm.

Load Management: The construction load on the working platform must not exceed the design value; the concentrated stacking of heavy objects such as formwork and rebar is prohibited.

IV. Inspection and Maintenance
Section-by-Section Inspection: After erecting 6–8 meters in height, organize relevant personnel to conduct an inspection. Check whether the verticality of the standards poles, the levelness of the ledger, the firmness of node connections, and the arrangement of diagonal braces meet requirements. Erection may only continue after passing the inspection.

Final Inspection: Upon completion of the scaffold erection, conduct a comprehensive inspection to verify that the overall stability of the scaffold, the installation of wall ties, and safety protection facilities meet code requirements. The scaffold may only be put into use after passing the inspection.

Routine Maintenance: During use, periodically inspect the stability of the scaffold.
